Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning

Understanding levels of performance is crucial for learning and improvement. Performance measurement also influences behaviour – people behave differently when they know their performance will be measured. Our approach focuses on learning rather than finding faults.

In this regard we offer an ongoing service, where we quarterly assess/monitor progress and annually evaluate impact. After the annual evaluation, we facilitate a reflection, learning and re-focussing workshop. Participants learn from mistakes, from each other and optionally also from other similar organisations, providing a stronger foundation for future success rates. The information form this process also informs the leadership in their LED governance role.

Efficiency and effectiveness of learning improves with economy of scale, for example a synchronised process for a District Municipality and all its Local Municipalities.

Duration: Ongoing cycle of quarterly monitoring events and annual evaluation & learning events.
